Switch from Dyno
Moving from Dyno to ZeroBot
ZeroBot cannot log in to Dyno, and no bot can read another bot's settings. What it can do is read what Dyno left in your server, show you a plan, and take over the parts you tick. Free on every plan.
What comes over
All-in-one
The scan looks for these. Each one it finds is a suggestion with its own switch.
- Reaction-role messages Dyno posted. ZeroBot listens to the same message and matches each emoji to a role from the message text.
- Roles named like Level 10 become ZeroBot level roles, and a level-up channel is found by its name.
- The role new members get, read from members who joined in the last two weeks. If that is not clear, you pick it.
- The last welcome message Dyno posted, turned into a ZeroBot template that names the member and the server.
- The last goodbye message, turned into ZeroBot's leave message.
- Discord AutoMod rules keep running in Discord. Keyword rules can also be copied into ZeroBot's word filter.
- Log channels, found by their names: mod log, server log, automod log and role log.
- A giveaway channel, found by its name.
- A starboard channel, found by its name, switched on in ZeroBot.
- A suggestions channel, found by its name.
What you do yourself
- Drag ZeroBot's role above the roles it should hand out, in Server Settings, Roles. The plan tells you which ones.
- XP is not read from Dyno. If you have a CSV or JSON file with member IDs and XP, Bring your levels takes it.
- Remove Dyno when you are ready. ZeroBot never removes another bot.
What no import can read
- Custom commands and their replies
- Settings kept in the other bot's own dashboard
- Warnings, cases and notes
- Coins, shops and inventories
- Button and menu roles (rebuild them with ZeroBot's self roles)
- AutoMod regex patterns (they keep running in Discord)
Bots keep these in their own database, so no other bot can read them. This is the same for every bot.
How to switch
- 01
Add ZeroBot
Invite ZeroBot to your server. The invite asks for Administrator, so it can read the roles, channels and AutoMod rules the import needs.
- 02
Open the importer
Sign in with Discord, pick your server and open Import from other bots in the dashboard.
- 03
Scan your server
Press Scan this server. ZeroBot reads your roles, Discord's AutoMod rules and the latest 50 messages in up to 25 channels. The scan only reads.
- 04
Check the plan
Every part has its own switch. Where a message does not say which role an emoji gives, you pick the role.
- 05
Import
Press Import, then Yes, import. ZeroBot writes only its own settings. Dyno, its messages and Discord's AutoMod rules stay as they are.
- 06
Bring your levels
Under the import, Bring your levels takes a CSV or JSON file. You see a preview, pick whether the higher value, the new value or the sum wins, and can undo it for 24 hours.
- 07
Finish up
Check the pages ZeroBot now runs, then remove Dyno in Server Settings, Integrations. Changed your mind? Undo reverses the import for 30 days.
Good to know
- Nothing changes until you press Import, and Undo works for 30 days.
- Both bots can run side by side while you check. Reaction roles keep working on the same message.
- The import and the level import are free on every plan.
Ready to switch?
Add ZeroBot first, then open the importer for your server.
